What to do.

Tad and I have to come to a very big decision that is not going to come easily. The past couple of day's I have spent a lot of time crying and trying to figure out what to do. When Tad last reenlisted he did it for "needs of the army" so they sent him to Ft Irwin Ca for two years. Which we both don't like it there, but it was nice because he was safe from deploying, and they gave him quite a nice bonus. He is a tank commander so he trains others to deploy.

Well his two year mark is up and it is time for us to Figure out where to make our next home. We really want to go to Ft Lewis and have been told that as of May 16th we can move there. This is where Tad and I but heads. At Ft Lewis there are not tanks. They have the striker brigade there. They are not as safe as tanks, and Ft Lewis is constantly deploying. If my husband is going to be deployed I want him to be in a sturdy tank. He wants to move there so that I can be close to home and have the support of my family. I just want my husband to be safe and if that means moving to tim buc two I am so there.
Unfortunately wherever we go right now it looks as if Tad is going to deploy. He has already been to Iraq twice. Am I selfish to not want him to go back? We have a little baby now and she needs her daddy! I cant even imagine something happening to him over there. With the way the war is going he would probably end up in Afghanistan. It is getting really really bad there right now. Violence is really really heating up, and with our new president who knows NOTHING about the military I am quite worried about this war.
I just don't think I ccould handle life right now with Tad deployed. He is my other half and I need him in my life. Not to mention I don't want him to miss all of Maddie's firsts that she does. Another couple of options are Ft hood which is in Texas, and Ft Carson which is in Colorado. If we went to both he would for sure deploy. He would be a tank commander though, so at least he would be in charge. Anybody that knows Tad knows he is very very good at his job, that is why he has moved up a lot faster than most people. People the same rank as him have been in the army a lot longer than he has. What can I say my husband is good. Am I being selfish for not wanting my husband to go back to the middle east? Both of his tours last time were extended he has faught in this war for well over three years. I want him to be safe and if it meens deploying I want him in a tank not some punny striker. This is such a hard choice to make and we are both just so lost. This is a striker.
It weighs about 20 tons

This is a Abrams tank it weighs about 70 tons and one tank costs 4-5 million dollars.
