Temple Sealing

The last couple of weeks have been up and down. Tad and I have been trying to get to the temple for a while now. It was a testimony to me how important it is to go. We should have been sealed a long time ago but things kept getting in the way. Tad does not have a normal job and when they say jump he says how high. So the week we of the our sealing is the week we decided to go. Tad ended up getting a few days off and we said "OK we are going" Not even really enough time to invite people. The week of the sealing my uncle passed away and it looked as though they were going to have the funeral on the day of our sealing, but we decided that no matter what we had put this off to long we had to go to the temple. When we made the plans in stone they luckily decided to do the funeral the day before. It is amazing to me how hard the adversary works against you. It really strengthened my testimony. Even on the way there we had a few bumps in the road. Maddie had gotten quite sick that week as well. She even threw up on me during the sealing. It was worth it though. Over all though it was the most wonderful day. I am so excited to have my wonderful husband and precious daughter with me forever. I feel so blessed to be a member of the church and have the truth in my life.

What to do.

Tad and I have to come to a very big decision that is not going to come easily. The past couple of day's I have spent a lot of time crying and trying to figure out what to do. When Tad last reenlisted he did it for "needs of the army" so they sent him to Ft Irwin Ca for two years. Which we both don't like it there, but it was nice because he was safe from deploying, and they gave him quite a nice bonus. He is a tank commander so he trains others to deploy.

Well his two year mark is up and it is time for us to Figure out where to make our next home. We really want to go to Ft Lewis and have been told that as of May 16th we can move there. This is where Tad and I but heads. At Ft Lewis there are not tanks. They have the striker brigade there. They are not as safe as tanks, and Ft Lewis is constantly deploying. If my husband is going to be deployed I want him to be in a sturdy tank. He wants to move there so that I can be close to home and have the support of my family. I just want my husband to be safe and if that means moving to tim buc two I am so there.
Unfortunately wherever we go right now it looks as if Tad is going to deploy. He has already been to Iraq twice. Am I selfish to not want him to go back? We have a little baby now and she needs her daddy! I cant even imagine something happening to him over there. With the way the war is going he would probably end up in Afghanistan. It is getting really really bad there right now. Violence is really really heating up, and with our new president who knows NOTHING about the military I am quite worried about this war.
I just don't think I ccould handle life right now with Tad deployed. He is my other half and I need him in my life. Not to mention I don't want him to miss all of Maddie's firsts that she does. Another couple of options are Ft hood which is in Texas, and Ft Carson which is in Colorado. If we went to both he would for sure deploy. He would be a tank commander though, so at least he would be in charge. Anybody that knows Tad knows he is very very good at his job, that is why he has moved up a lot faster than most people. People the same rank as him have been in the army a lot longer than he has. What can I say my husband is good. Am I being selfish for not wanting my husband to go back to the middle east? Both of his tours last time were extended he has faught in this war for well over three years. I want him to be safe and if it meens deploying I want him in a tank not some punny striker. This is such a hard choice to make and we are both just so lost. This is a striker.
It weighs about 20 tons

This is a Abrams tank it weighs about 70 tons and one tank costs 4-5 million dollars.

All about us

We are Tad, Lindsay, and Madleyne.
Tad and I got married August 18th 2007. We have a 7 mo old daughter who is the light of our lives. She has brought so much joy to our family, and taught us so much. She surprises us everyday. We currently live in Fort Irwin Ca. Tad is a tank commander there. He pretty much just blows stuff up everyday. I stay at home and take care of our daughter, and dog (Toby). Living in California has taught us a lot about ourselves. WE both hate it there very much. It is way to Worldy if that makes any sense. It has made us very thankful for the gospel in our lives. I will post more later. I am still learning this whole blog thingy.
